Top Notes

The top notes of a fragrance represent the first impression.  Generally the lightest of all the notes, the top notes are recognized immediately upon application. They also the first to fade given their light molecular structure, but this does not mean they aren't of utmost importance.

Bergamot Essential Oil may be helpful in use during periods of depression, sadness or grief.

Green Hyacinth offers both medicinal value for a healthier body. They bloom in spring and should be left to grow until the leaves die off. This allows them to store energy in the bulbs for the next year. Just as we should replenish our energy stores.

Pink Grapefruit is beneficial for balancing mood and relieving anxiety.

 

Heart Notes

The heart notes make an appearance once the top notes evaporate. Considered the heart of the fragrance, the middle notes last longer than the top notes and have a strong influence on the base notes that follow.

The Jasmine flower is associated with love, beauty and sensuality. In some cultures, Jasmine represents appreciation and purity.

Lily of the Valley represents motherhood, purity, sweetness and humility. When the lily of the valley blooms, happiness is said to return.

The Peony symbolizes honor, fortune, compassion and a happy relationship.

 

Base Notes

The base notes appear once the top notes are completely evaporated. The base notes mingle with the heart notes to create the full body of the fragrance. They linger on the skin for hours after the top notes have dissipated providing a lasting impression.

Amber oil comes from the Baltic amber tree and adds a heavy, full bodied, powdery, warm fragrance note.

Cedarwood has a distinctive woody, spicy-resinous scent that has been used as a base note of many famous perfumes.

An oil from the Indian sandal tree. One of the oldest known perfumery ingredients, commonly used as a base note.

A true botanical form of musk scent derived from the ambrette seeds of the hibiscus plant. A much more environmentally sensitive alternative than animal sources.
